I was also cautioned to not use the software again until it gets fixed or I could lose important data. Finally, I called QBs Support and was told I had corrupted data and it will cost a few thousand dollars to sign up for a support plan to get our data fixed. I spent 3 days (12 hrs each) trying to find out why our balance sheet was wonky. After using it for about a little over a year, QBs has been nothing but a PITA. I figured the software would be different but I had NO clue. I'm not an accountant but figured I could run the data entry for QBs since I've done it in the past (30-ish years ago). I don't know what I will be able to do? I only have a month and a half to find a solution or I will be locked out from my data! Date of experience: March 12, 2023 ![]() These prices are just way over the top! I can no longer afford them. What used to cost me $300/every 3 years, now costs $1410/yr! And, the new desktop program is missing most of the features I have now! I have an extremely small business. Then, they sent me an urgent email telling me that my software and company data will be totally inaccessible after that date! I went online to their site and quickly discovered that they are trying to push everyone into very expensive monthly online versions that I can't afford! I then searched for a desktop version which they are hiding very well because they really don't want people to find it, but I finally found it. I thought, OK, I'll just pay for another three year license which should be $300, the price I paid in 2019. Today, I saw a large RED exclamation point on my desktop telling me that my version will be reaching end-of-life come May 31st, 2023. ![]() I purchased QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2019 the last time, and then updated that to 2020 free because I had a three year license term. I have been a QuickBooks Desktop Pro user since 1985. I feel betrayed by this company and will have no choice but to find another accounting system for our SMALL company. Disclosure: I copied a review from a few days ago as my experience was exactly the same, including having started QBs in the same year.
